This is where we can influence where the eco-money goes. One of four projects scoops the whole £50m, no runners-up, and we the public decide - online voting closes noon on 10 Dec.
    The 4 projects are:

    Sustrans' Connect2
    Sherwood: the Living Legend
    Black Country Urban Park
    and last but not least

    Eden Project: The Edge

My money's on Eden: The Edge http://www.theedge.org/subPages/thinking.htm for its massive world-wide eco-educational potential.

    your link does'nt work.

I personally found the eden project a big disappointment and I cant see the real point of the edge other than a bigger tourist attraction.

The sustrans coonect2 project covers many parts of the country and offers a genuine alternative to increasing car use so it gets my vote.

Who decides that only four projects are worthwhile, I can think of a lot more that are more deserving

What eco-money is this Tom. Not from the lottery surely!

The best thing they could do for the environment's sake is burn it I think.

Haven't you looked at the Sherwood bid? This project will protect one of Europe's most eclogically precious (and threatened) wildlife habitats (including the largest concentration of ancient oaks on the continent) and create a 250km network of recreational and commuter paths linking the landscape with the national cycle network. At the heart will be a futuristic and iconic 300sq m carbon-neutral visitor centre providing state-of-the-art facilities for visitors. Fifty local communities in the former coalfield area (which have in their ranks some of the most disadvantaged in Britain) will benefit from regeneration initiatives - and free access and facilities will be within two hours' travel of 28 million people - not bad for a nation of obese, Nature-fearing couch potatoes in need of a hero.... speaking of which Robin Hood is part of the deal too! You can see the project summarised succincltly in a video on the peoples millions website at http://www.thepeoples50million.org.uk/projects/sherwood/video-wall-sherwood

Tom, I actually agree with you for once. Then again it could be a SW thing but for me maybe not. No chance for MF here

Wow, three of us in agreement
