What do you tend to use for supporting reinforcing mesh in slabs?

We need to support two layers of A393 mesh, one at 50 mm high and one at 150 mm high.

The easiest way is to use the proper plastic spacers from a civils company - you can use bits of concrete paving slabs if you have any . Get some tie wire as well to join everything up nicely before the pour

Between the two layers I use 105mm high wire chairs, packs of 25, one chair per m2.

Under I use bits if broken paving slab but don't tell anyone!

I was sent to buy deckchairs for this purpose. Was a bit worried it was like being sent for elbow grease or an air hook.

Has anyone ever used Meshmen? We bought a sack of them but instead of providing 40/50 mm cover they measure off more like 30/40 mm cover (to bottom of slab)

Did you speak with your supplier? It does sound they have sent a size down.
