I visited the Salford Energy House yesterday: a Victorian brick 1.5 house terrace in a environment-controlled chamber for testing retrofit solutions.

My write-up is not quite finished yet, but I'm aiming to finish it while on the bus, shortly.

Interesting, thanks for posting. What about different house types though, shouldn't similar experiments be done on single level dwellings, cavity wall dwellings, TF dwellings...?

Yes, IMHO, and I have an evil plan to create an international standard to support such in the future, but the space and money just to build this one building in a building is obviously significant!

I am loving this, such a good idea

Did they build it using lime mortar? How will they model heat losses to the sky on a clear night? Likewise radiated heat loss from the roof? Lots of questions

    Look forward to more

    Tony,

In the article I link to more about the house. I don't know any more than I have written up!

But if by "more" you mean other similar visits or meetings, maybe this set of my meeting write-ups would be of interest:

    http://www.earth.org.uk/sitemap.html#meetings

    and more specifically, for example:
