As I've posted previously, we are close to starting our self-build house here in Normandy. We are including a whole house ventilation system with heat recovery and want to bring the fresh air in via underground pipes. Has anyone experience of installing these pipes? In particular I am unsure about the condensation issue - where to fit the condensation pit for example. I am thinking of taking the pipework around the foundations with the air intake column just under the first floor balcony so it's partial protected from heavy snowfalls.

With regard to the main ventilation system is it relatively easy to balance the supply and extract sides? Anything I need to bear in mind - I am looking to install the system relatively early to help dry out the build as it progresses. I'm not in a great hurry to finish as we live next door to the site, so we can ensure that things are done right rather than rushed!!

    Many thanks, Jonathan
